Biogenic synthesis of silver nanoparticles from leaf extract of Elettaria cardamomum and their antifungal activity against phytopathogens

The current study reports biogenic synthesis of silver nanoparticles from Elettaria cardamomum. leaf extract was used as reducing and capping agent for nanoparticle parent solution nitrate. Nanoparticle suspension characterized mainly using UV-Visible spectroscopy. Synthesis parameters namely, time, metal ion concentration, quantity, reaction temperature pH are well known to affect the final product hence, were varied assess optimum conditions synthesis. Nanoparticles synthesized at washed Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). obtained in size range 5-80 nm (TEM), with an average particle 29.96 calculated Debye-Scherrer formula hydrodynamic diameter 32.12 (DLS). FTIR implicates plausible role protein part DLS confirms monodisperse nature suspension. found be stable after four months storage room without addition any stabilizing agents. Silver exhibited excellent antifungal activity against various fungal phytopathogens minimum inhibitory concentration low 8 µg/mL Aspergillus niger, making them potential agents field agriculture.
